On September 18, 2022, my older brother Sean unexpectedly passed away.
I never could have imagined a world without my big brother in it. My brother was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. After he passed away, a friend of his shared the story of how, while on vacation in the Virgin Islands, he gave the shoes off his feet to a person he saw walking barefoot down the road.
Sean hated running, unless it involved a soccer ball. But, he loved the number 13. On May 6th, I will be running the Maine Coast Half Marathon - 13.1 miles for him. Running this race and raising money for the Herren Project seem like a perfect way to honor my big brother's memory.
