Join us in supporting real change. Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us for HERREN PROJECT

This year as last, I will be walking in the BAA 5K to raise money for the Herren Project. And once again I am lucky to have Barb Watson as my wing woman. The work Herren Project does (described below) is my primary motivation but equally important in my decision to walk is the fact I can continue to live this chapter of my life in the most "normal" way. I am not guaranteeing that we will do the entire 3.2 miles but we will certainly give it our best shot. Thank you for supporting both of us in our fundraising for The Herren Project.

HERREN PROJECT is a non-profit organization focused on treatment, recovery and prevention of substance use disorder. We offer a variety of services free of charge. These include assistance with treatment placement, long-term recovery support for individuals and families (including virtual online support groups and recovery coaching) as well as financial support for treatment programs and recovery housing. Herren Project also partners with schools and communities to provide education on self-care and mindfulness practices for the development of healthy coping skills to prevent the misuse of drugs and alcohol while empowering young people to be leaders in their community. Herren Project was founded in 2011 by former professional basketball player, Chris Herren, who has been in long-term recovery since August 1, 2008.

Thanks to people like you, HERREN PROJECT has helped 827 people get into treatment, assisted over 2600 individuals and families, secured close to $4,000,000 in treatment and recovery related expenses, and have 440 people registered for our virtual online support groups. We have also provided 900 healing packages to families, $40,000 in school and student grants and engaged with over 580 schools and communities through our prevention and awareness initiatives.

We are 100% funded through private donations, so with your help, we will ensure that more individuals and families receive the gift of recovery.
