I am running to support my dad who is 8+ years sober and my best friend whose sister lost her battle with a substance use disorder. I want to raise awareness to the disease of addiction and end the stigma associated with substance use disorders. I have seen first hand that when we come together with compassion and understanding, we can make a difference in the lives of others.
Herren Project is a national nonprofit organization started in 2011 providing free resources and support for the treatment, recovery and prevention of substance use disorder to help individuals, families and communities live healthy, fulfilling lives free from effects of addiction to drugs and alcohol.
