Usually this time of year I am asking for donations for Team BIDMC. With the Boston marathon 2021 being postponed I have chosen a charity that is near and dear to my heart to raise money for this holiday season. Because of the global pandemic individuals with substance use disorder are struggling more than ever. With in-person support group meetings and therapy being suspended many people are finding that the network they rely upon has disappeared or is harder to access. Herren Project provides zoom support meetings and education for families and individuals with SUD. They provide scholarships to programs when the cost is prohibitive.
