Running Across America to raise funding & awareness for mental health and addiction recovery.
Running Home is a 2,000-mile run from Denver, Colorado, to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., raising $100,000 for Herren Project and putting mental health and addiction recovery in front of millions of people.
Why Collin is Running Across America
On June 13, 2026, Collin Chartier will start a 2,000-mile run from Denver, Colorado, to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The route crosses ten states and stops in seven cities with a targetted finish of mid-September, Recovery Month. The fundraising goal is $100,000, with 100% of donations going to Herren Project. Every mile is dedicated to the people still in the rebuild: the ones grinding through recovery, the ones holding it together for their kids, the ones who have not asked for help yet because they do not know the help exists. The Running Home Team
Who is Collin Chartier
Collin Chartier is a former professional triathlete who competed at the elite level before receiving a doping suspension that ended his career. He rebuilt through breathwork, nervous system regulation, and the slow, daily work nobody sees. He became a certified breathwork instructor, founded GroundApp (a nervous system regulation platform with 41 techniques and 16 guided sessions), and launched Ground Coaching, his 1:1 practice for endurance athletes, founders, and people doing their own rebuild. His coaching centers on mental performance, somatic and nervous-system regulation, and the kind of inner work that holds up under real pressure.
Who is Kevin Murphy
Kevin Murphy runs on-the-road operations for Running Home. He drives the camp van and trailer that supports the run, leapfrogging ahead of Collin every 12 to 15 miles for the full 2,000-mile route from Denver to Washington, D.C. Kevin is in recovery himself. He is donating his time, his vehicle, and his presence because he personally believes in the mission. The crew is intentional: the runner and the driver both share lived experience with recovery. That is the foundation of everything Running Home stands for.
It's For Someone Else
Running Home is what it looks like when the work stops being about me and starts being about the next person who needs to believe their rebuild is real.
“No records. No race. No finish line. Just a way to use what I’ve spent my whole life learning to actually help someone.” Collin Chartier
Who is Herren Project
Herren Project is the sole charity partner of Running Home. Founded by Chris Herren, a former NBA player and person in long-term recovery, Herren Project has provided free resources and support for prevention, recovery, and resilience to individuals, families, and communities impacted by addiction since 2011. Every dollar donated supports Herren Project programs.
Chris Herren's personal recovery story has inspired Collin and countless individuals and families. 100% of the donations raised will be given back to the gift of recovery, helping others find hope, healing, and support.
